Solomon's Seal (Polygonatum odoratum) is a perennial 30-120 cm tall with a sharply angular stem, horizontal, relatively thin rhizome. The plant has axillary single (less often 2) white flowers. Leaves are usually alternate, directed up. The flowers are rich in nectar. Solomon's Seal is pollinated only by long proboscis bumblebees. The fruit is a dark blue, almost black berry. Polygonatum odoratum blooms in May and July.
