Taste
E.H. Taylor Small Batch Bourbon is a distinguished creation from E.H. Taylor, still proudly produced at the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery. This small batch bourbon is crafted from Mash Bill #1, sharing its heritage with other exceptional blends like Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace. With a lower rye content than Mash Bill #2, it offers a delightful sweetness and richness, featuring enticing notes of caramel corn and butterscotch, complemented by subtle undertones of licorice. The finish is elegantly soft and warm, revealing gentle hints of pepper and tobacco that linger pleasantly on the palate.

History
E.H. Taylor Small Batch Bourbon is crafted by a true innovator whose vision was ahead of his time. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery located in Frankfurt, Kentucky, on the edge of the Kentucky River, originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery. He began renovating and modernizing the plant by purchasing copper fermentation tanks, new grain grinding equipment, and unique columnar stills. During his time there, Taylor implemented several innovative distilling techniques, including aging whiskey in climate-controlled rickhouses, setting a new standard in bourbon production. While others were adding juices and syrups to sweeten their bourbon, E.H. Taylor relied on his distilling expertise. His partnership with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle was instrumental in passing the Bottled-In-Bond Act in 1897, ensuring the authenticity and quality of spirits. This fine bourbon, crafted from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel at more than 125 proof, represents the traditional methods of bourbon production from the days before Prohibition, under the ownership of Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. at Buffalo Trace Distillery.
