History
Eagle Rare Bourbon 1.75L is a masterpiece that was first crafted at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfurt, Kentucky in 1975. During this time, whisky sales were at an all-time low, so Master Distiller Charles Beam took the opportunity to put out more aged and pricier products. Initially, it was bottled at 101 proof as a means of reintroducing bourbon as a luxury spirit and as an homage and direct competitor to Wild Turkey. In 1989, The Sazerac Company purchased several brands including Eagle Rare, and in 1992 they acquired Buffalo Trace Distillery. Over the years, the brand has undergone several changes, including the discontinuation of the 101 proof version in favor of the 90-proof version we know today. The whiskey is carefully aged for no less than ten years, resulting in a smooth and flavorful experience. Additionally, the Eagle Rare Life program, established in 2011, highlights community efforts and contributions, further solidifying Eagle Rare's commitment to excellence both in its product and its community impact.
